HOW IS DIABETES DIAGNOSED?
  1. HBA1C (glycated haemoglobin) Test
  2. This blood test indicates your average blood sugar level for the past three months. Results are interpreted as follows: < 5.7% is normal.
    5.7% t- 6.4% is: Pre-Diabetes.
    > 6.5% on two separate tests: Diabetes
  3. Oral Glucose Tolerance Test
  4. This test is mainly used during pregnancy (Gestational Diabetes) Results are interpreted as follows:
    < 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L): Normal.
    140-199 /dL (7.8 mmol/L - 11.0 mmol/L): Pre-Diabetes.
    >200 mg/dL (> 11.1 mmol/L) after two hours of consuming sugar liquid: Diabetes.
  5. Random Blood Sugar Test
  6. This test is done to assess blood sugar levels regardless of your eating time. Results are interpretate as follows:
    > 200 mg/dL (> 11.1 mmol/L): Suggests diabetes.
  7. Fasting Blood Sugar Test
  8. This test is done after an overnight fast Results are interpretate as follows:
    < 100 mg/dL (< 5.6 mmol/L): Normal.
    100 - 125 mg/dL (5.6 - 6.9 mmol/L): Pre-Diabetes.
    >126 mg/dL (> 7 mmol/L) on two separate tests: Diabetes.
