The majority of them originate from foods that are consumed by animals, such as meat and dairy products, as well as a few plant-based foods like palm and coconut oils.
Foods high in saturated fats- Coconut oil and coconut cream
- Fatty cuts of meat
- Meat products, including sausages and pies
- Biscuits, cakes, and pastries
- Butter, ghee, and lard
- Cheese, particularly hard cheese like cheddar
- Cream, soured cream and ice cream
- Palm oil
- A few savoury snacks, like cheese crackers and some popcorns
- Chocolate-flavoured sweets
