WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF ALCOHOL USE DISORDER?
Alcohol consumption disorder symptoms include:
- Continuing to drink even if it causes you or others grief or injury
- Blacking out or forgetting what has happened
- When you are not drinking, you may get irritable or moody
- Having recurring problems with relationships, employment, school, or the law as a result of drinking
- Drinking more or staying out later than you intended
- having to consume ever more alcohol to have the same effects
- Having alcohol cravings
- Hangovers occur frequently.
- Forgo activities in order to drink.
- Putting yourself in dangerous situations when drinking (for example, unsafe sex, and driving).
- Obsession with drinking.
- Being unable to quit drinking once you've begun.
- Not being able to cut back while wanting to.
- Spending a great deal of time drinking or sobering up after drinking
When they reduce or stop drinking, an individual with an alcohol use problem may furthermore have withdrawal symptoms, such as
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Rapid heartbeat
- Depression
- Dry heaves, nausea
- Shakiness.
- Restlessness.
- Irritability.
- Death and coma
- Sleeping problems
- Tremendous delirium
- Seizures
- Sweating
- Hallucinations (Seeing things that do not exist)
